Probiotics For Dogs – Keeping Them Healthy Through The Years

There are many definitions that people use to define exactly what probiotics are. A quick search will yield the following; that it’s a bacteria, a microorganism, a digestive tract supplement, digestive boosters as well as a multitude of other names. Truth be told, in one way shape or form they are all right.

The bottom line simply stated is that they are a microbe that will protect the user and prevent disease. Using the generic term of bacteria many of us think of bacteria as being bad and unhealthy. Some can be and some can even be deadly. So why have probiotics for dogs?

Let’s step back and understand why probiotics for dogs and certain bacteria are not only necessary, but good for dogs as well. “Friendly bacteria” that can be found inside the intestinal tract serve a major function for your dog by keeping their defenses up against illness and disease.
